Our entertainment line-up for the Amsterdam Twestival is growing by the hour! We have dance performances, video displays, laser shows, poetry and much, much, more.

In addition to the DJ and artist line-up announced earlier today, we are now able to reveal the latest additions, all volunteering their time and talent to make Amsterdam Twestival a success:

In addition to UK’s Benji Boko, we have legendary UK DJ Graeme Park, with a career spanning over 20 years, 8 of them spent in residence at the Hacienda, Manchester during its glory days; Graeme has rightfully earned the reputation as the pioneer of house music and continues to be at the forefront of the dance scene today.

Female vocalist and flutist Farah Day, with a background in jazz-, classical- and world music has continuously mesmerized her audiences with her personal style, a mix of jazz-dance, funky-house, jazzy lounge and soulful-trance.

Active in the international DJ scene, Dutch DJ Lady Ace has played with the likes of Tiesto, Terry Toner and Ben Cullum to name just a few! Renowned for her variety of music styles: dance sounds, funky grooves and jazzy lounge, she’s played the Netherland’s festival scene including Wooferland and Awakenings and entertained audiences in Brazil, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Born in Israel, Oded Nir’s music stems from the early 90’s. After years of studio and stage performance as a bass player Oded moved exclusively into producing and composing music. He is no stranger to the International music scene, performing at the Cannes Midem festival and closer to home, recently at the Amsterdam Dance Event.

As you know Amsterdam Twestival is about bringing the twitter community together, to not only raise funds for good causes but network with like-minded people and experience homegrown media, technology and music talent in one evening that’s sure to be, one hell of a party!

We are pleased to see the return of Ancilla Tilla (Wakker Dier’s Ambassador and FHM columnist) as our MC for the evening whilst we welcome a new technology sponsor to Amsterdam Twestival; Sonos who will operate a Multi-Room Music System which besides doing funky techi stuff, will live stream online and on radio from the Odeon’s basement lounge.

In addition, we are fortunate to have a number of Dutch and International DJs and artists providing music for all tastes, whom have all volunteered time out from their busy agendas to get behind the Tweet-Meet-Give message. Many of the acts will be performing sets throughout the night exclusively for Amsterdam Twestival party-goers. A warm welcome to Benji Boko joining us from the UK music scene. A British Music Producer, DJ and Beatboxer, Benji is famed for his upbeat club remixes and funky hip-hop. The popular Amsterdam rock/pop band A Balladeer whose musical career rocketed whilst supporting Keane, Saybia and Beth Hart on tour ,and once winners of the prestigious De Buma Zilveren Harpen will delight the audience with new and old songs including ‘Swim with Sam’ and ‘Fortune Teller‘ 

With a demanding schedule ahead of them, as they line-up for this year’s travelling festival: Popronde-seizoen and a debut album due out this month, we are fortunate to have Avant La Lettre the 5-piece Indie/Pop band from Amsterdam with musical influences from Radiohead en dEUS join us especially for this special event.

DJ Dimitri, known to his fans as Rockstar DIM BROWSKI works with various artists in different fields. His band K.I.S.S., also known as the Kiss Intergalactic Sound System, is well known for their eccentric live shows and hip-hop afterparties. Dim has a following throughout Amsterdam with return performances at Bitterzoet, De Kring and MiniBar.

We are looking forward to announcing further artists to our line-up throughout today and tomorrow, although we plan to keep some things under wraps, after all, what’s a party without a few surprises!

De laatste 4 weken is er hier en daar getwittered over het, Amsterdam Twestival, de meeste van jullie hebben waarschijnlijk geen idee wat zich achter de schermen allemaal heeft afgespeeld, maar een ding kunnen we jullie zeker, beloven. Het wordt een super, spektakel. Georganiseerd door gemeenschap, voor gemeenschap.

Gepassioneerde vrijwilligers hebben zich een slag in de rondte gewerkt, om het allemaal van de grond te krijgen. Alles wat we er voor terug vragen is dat je een kaartje koopt, en het aan al je vrienden, collega’s en wie het maar horen wil door verteld, want hoe meer kaarten er verkocht worden hoe meer geld er gaat naar onze zes (6) goede doelen.

Een leuke bijkomstigheid is, dat je zelf kunt kiezen naar welke van de zes goede doelen jou geld gaat. In the last 4 weeks, Amsterdam Twestival has been driven through Twitter - more below the line than above, and although the majority of you can’t see what’s happening behind the scenes, we guarantee you a suprisingly exciting and memorable charitable event that we can all be proud of, organised for the community by the community.

Our group of passionate volunteers have been working around the clock to make this all happen. All we ask of you, the community is to participate by purchasing tickets for the 10th September Amsterdam Twestival event, and spreading the word(s) ‘one night of tweeting, meeting and giving‘ throughout your network. After all, the more ticket sales, the more money for our 6 chosen charities.

Wederom starten we met zero budget om een evenement neer te zetten ten behoeve van  goede doelen en door middel van de kracht van de communty: twitter. Met hetzelfde doel als in februari voor ogen; elke cent die binnenkomt door sponsorschap en verkoop van de tickets gaat direct naar het goede doel. Met het eerste evenement hebben we € 2.653 opgehaald voor charity: water die schoon en veilig water organiseert voor derde wereld landen.

Deze keer zetten we hoger in met als doel geld in te zamelen voor fondsen die evenredig verdeeld wordt over 6 geselecteerde goede doelen uit Nederland. Dagelijks zet De Regenboog Groep zich in voor dak- en thuislozen, verslaafden en mensen met sociale en psychiatrische problemen. Onze vrijwilligers bieden met ondersteuning van onze professionals opvang, hulpverlening en zinvolle dagbesteding. Via sociale contacten voorkomen we eenzaamheid en isolement. Gezamenlijk werken wij er aan mensen in staat te stellen zelf vorm en inhoud te geven aan hun bestaan en actief deel te nemen aan de maatschappij. Als mensen onder elkaar.

Gesticht in Mei 2002, KiKa (Kinderen Kankervrij) werft fondsen voor onderzoek tbv de preventie, behandeling en genezing en naar de oorzaak van kinderkanker. De nieuwste genen onderzoeken voorziet onze zeven geselecteerde nationale medische en academische deze centra versneld therapieën beschikbaar willen maken voor een betere behandeling en genezing van kinderkanker

Stichting Nobel is een collectief van een 12-tal mensen uit de communicatiewereld. Zij bedenken en produceren creatieve projecten om sociale, maatschappelijke of ecologische knelpunten op een geheel nieuwe manier te belichten. Het nieuwste project waar zij aan werken is “Honey Bee Happening” waar ze mensen willen leren over de onmisbare rol van de bij. De bij is namelijk verantwoordelijk voor een enorm gedeelte van het voedsel dat dagelijks op ons bord ligt. En met de bij gaat het momenteel niet goed. In samenwerking met imker Pim Lemmers wil Stichting Nobel op de Amsterdamse daken van gebouwen, bijenkasten plaatsen om de bijenpopulatie een handje te helpen.

HandsOn Microkrediet: Stichting HandsOn Nederland (H.O.N.) is de eerste particuliere microkrediet-organisatie in Nederland en ondersteunt toekomstige ondernemers die talenten en een goed plan hebben met micro-kredieten en coaching. HandsOn verbindt deze mensen met succesvolle ondernemers die hen coachen bij het starten van een eigen bedrijf.

Stichting CliniClowns Nederland biedt kinderen met een ziekte en/of handicap afleiding en plezier. De CliniClowns laten hen weer even baas zijn over hun eigen situatie.

Momenteel spelen meer dan 60 speciaal opgeleide professionele CliniClowns in ruim 100 ziekenhuizen en andere zorginstellingen door heel Nederland. Wanneer de CliniClowns niet in het ziekenhuis aanwezig zijn, kunnen kinderen nog steeds in de clownswereld terecht. Door de interactieve CliniClowns Speelkoffer in het ziekenhuis, de spannende online belevingswereld Neuzenroode.nl voor kinderen die thuis worden verzorgd en door verschillende clowneske evenementen voor kinderen en hun gezin. Een daarvan is de CliniClowns Theatertour, speciaal voor kinderen met een meervoudige en/of verstandelijke handicap.

In totaal bereikt CliniClowns op dit moment ongeveer 25% van alle kinderen met een ziekte en/of handicap. Doelstelling voor de komende jaren is het bereiken van minimaal de helft van alle zieke en gehandicapte kinderen! Dat kan door meer ziekenhuisbezoeken, meer CliniClowns, meer Speelkoffers, meer evenementen op maat en door het ontwikkelen van nieuwe diensten. Zodat nog meer kinderen met een ziekte en/of handicap gewoon weer even kind kunnen zijn.

Wakker Dier is de grootste dierenbeschermingsorganisatie die zich exclusief richt op het afschaffen van de bio-industrie. Wij spreken voor de dieren, geven ze een stem. We geloven dat dieren recht hebben op een buitenleven, het ontvangen van verdoving voor er medische procedures plaatsvinden en ze geen langdurig transporten meer hoeven te ondergaan. Onze campagnes hebben succesvol de volgende zaken opgeheven; legbatterij industrie, de levers van ganzen of van eenden die zo zijn gevoederd dat in de lever hypertrofie van de vetcellen optreedt het zgn foie grass, en onverdoofde castraties bij varkens en kalfsvlees uit de schappen van de supermarkten geweerd. Wordt wakker! En steun Wakker Dier.

We hebben je laten wachten, hebben de spanning op zitten bouwen. We beloofde je de tickets vanavond en we beloofde je de namen van de goede doelen. We zijn blij om te kunnen informeren dat wij helemaal klaar zijn, alles is rond, behalve de go om alle namen vrij te geven. Het is even een vertraging maar geen show stopper.

Wat we nu nodig hebben is de toestemming van Twestival Global support team in Causecast, die overwerken om alle Twestivals wereldwijd te ondersteunen. Het feit dat wij in Amsterdam 6 goede doelen, in plaats van 1, hebben en alles in het Nederlands is, helpt niet echt mee.

We houden je in de volgende 24 uur op de hoogte. We vragen je dus nog even geduld, we lichten je direct in en zodra de goedkeuring erdoor is kunnen de tickets via Paydro.net besteld worden.

We nog meer goed nieuws; we zijn blij om te melden dat @dim van www.funshirts.nl meewerkt en speciaal voor ons Amsterdam Twestival local T-shirts maakt met een eigen special design en deze s’avonds in Odeon verkoopt. Van elk verkocht T-shirt doneert hij € 10,- naar de goede doelen. Mooie deal en bedankt Dimitry.

Er wordt hard gewerkt aan het avondprogramma in Odeon, een deel daarvan zal tot vrijwel het einde ook ‘geheim’ blijven omdat we je willen verassen. J Dus als je erbij wilt zijn, bij dit geweldige evenement, wees er dan snel bij om een ticket te kopen.. “als” ze te koop zijn

Its a hold up but not a show stopper!  We now need permision to be able to go on from Twestival Global support team at Causecast who are working overtime trying to support the other twestivals around the world, the fact that we in Amsterdam will support 6 charities and the majority of the information is in Dutch is not helping them :-). we will update you as soon as we have clearance in the next 24 hours.
