Global Twitter-Based Charity Event Returns with Local Twist
Twestival returns September 10th this time with a local twist! The first Twestival which was held in Februrary 2009 rasied over $250,000 for clean water charity, charity: water with participation in 202 cities worldwide . This volunteer charity fundraising event was powered by users of the micro-blogging service twitter. The success of the event exposed to many people the power of social networking as a vehicle for social good and sparked global interest for social good.
Twestival Local again gives every city in the world the chance to hold their own Twestival, but this time the local charities will be the focus as Amsterdam celebrates at the Odeon Nightclub in Amsterdam from 19:00 - 02:00. By leveraging unique technology, donors will be able to choose what charity the proceeds from their ticket sales benefit.
