More than just the money
During the past three weeks we have been exploring Dutch Charity organizations and how they use social media tools to connect with their communities. We have also searched for local Dutch charities using twitter. The charities that we have spoken to are aware of the new tools but are unsure how to use them
The great news is that Twestival Amstedam have decided to help them understand the tools of social media so that they can move forward themselves and benefit from using Twitter, Hyves, Facebook etc. It would be unfare of us to just plunge organisations into a conversation that they may not understand.
This way - we are not only funding our charity with money - but educating many charities and possibly enabling them to raise their profiles and also connect with the many donors they have using the power of the community - so you could say we’re funding them in a sustainable manner.
